The Txitxardin Project highlights the importance of centering Indigenous epistemologies and ontologies; it is my collaborative research-creation project in three parts that emerged from the Indigenous Protocols and Artificial Intelligence workshops in 2020.

 

Thanks to substantial funding from the Neukom Institute at Dartmouth College, we are now working on the Eel Elder VR, one part of the Txitxardin Project. This virtual reality experience involves collaborating with departments at Dartmouth, UH Mānoa, and Euskaldunak (Basque) communities; it is also the first AI project to be built according to the IP+AI Position paper eight guidelines.  More can be read about the project in the IP and AI Position Paper.
